Congratulations Pitt, you played yourself.
It’s been a while, but I’m back! Living my best life, in my last year here at Penn State. When I tell most people I go to school in Happy Valley, they instantly try to engage in conversation surrounding football. But to be honest, I don’t know much about the sport, and in my last four years of being here, I haven’t actually attended one football game. I know, I know, how could do I go a big ten schools and not engage in the football culture? To be honest, I don’t know.
BUT, two weeks ago we played one of our biggest rivals, The University of Pittsburgh.
Just to be clear, Pitt and Penn State students only have one thing in common, they both applied to Penn State (LOL). This was our second time playing them in over 10 years, so it was a pretty big deal. Not to mention, all of my friends are from Pittsburgh, so for us, this was more than football, it was about bragging rights.
So my friends and I got our Penn State starter packs together and prepared for Saturday’s blowout. For those who aren’t familiar with the Penn State starter pack, I’m here to break it down for you. Here we go….
Every Penn State girl owns at least ONE of the following items: white Converse, Adidas Superstars, aviator sunglasses, a vintage PSU t-shirt and or sweatshirt, some sort of DIY PSU shirt, Alex & Ani bracelets, and a denim skirt. There’s more to the list, but for the sake of this blog, we’ll stop there.
So on September 9th, my squad and I arrived in our starter packs to cheer on our team looking good and feeling better. My cousin, a Pitt girl, unfortunately, joined us with her boo and it was so much fun. I honestly don’t think I had that much fun since my freshman year. What made it even better is that my best friend Craig is a photographer so he captured every moment.
Enjoy these photos of me and my friends enjoying life as we beat Pitt 33-14.
